Who am I

I am a senior researcher and head of the area Data Mining at Databases and Information Systems department. I am also an Adjunct Professor (docent) of computer science at University of Helsinki.

What's new

Research Interests

My main research interest is in Algorithmic Data Analysis. In particular, I have been working on Boolean matrix decompositions and their applications to data mining. But I am equally interested on other topics including, but not limited to, algorithmics, applications of data mining to other fields of science, matrix decomposition methods for data mining, redescription mining, and – most recently – large-scale information retrieval.
