Research Interests

I am a researcher in the broad areas of information retrieval, information extraction, and data mining. My doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics focused on building a scalable & efficient search infrastructure to analyze large amounts of semantically annotated text. As concrete products of my research I created Gyani and the DigitalHistorian search systems that were aimed to help linguists, journalists, & scholars in humanities to unlock the treasure trove of knowledge locked inside vast amounts of born-digital artifacts.
