Personal

I was born in Vila Velha, Espirito Santo, Brazil. I studied Computer Engineering in the Federal University of Espirito Santo. I received my Master degree in Computer Science by the University of Saarland and my PhD degree in Computer Science from the Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik and the Saarland University. My PhD supervisors were Dr. Christian Theobalt and Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Seidel. During my PhD, I visited the Robotics Lab (Computer Science Department) at Stanford from Aug/2007 - Feb/2008 under the supervision of Dr. Christian Theobalt and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Thrun. After my PhD, I joined Mixamo for a year. After that, I was a Post-doctoral Researcher at Disney Research Pittsburgh , in collaboration with the Carnegie Mellon University. I moved back to Brazil in 2011 to become a professor at the Federal University of Espirito Santo.

Since April/2014 I am a Visiting Researcher at the Graphics, Vision & Video research group at MPII.
