Gurprit Singh

Welcome!

I am a post doctoral researcher working with Karol Myszkowski in the computer graphics department at Max Planck Institute for informatics in Saarbrücken, Germany. Before that, I spent two wonderful years at Dartmouth College working with Wojciech Jarosz. I obtained my PhD from Université Lyon 1 in France, under the supervision of Victor Ostromoukhov. My research interests revolve around multi-dimensional sampling analysis and synthesis for Monte Carlo and Quasi-Monte Carlo based numerical integration methods with applications to global illumination. I am also actively working on some interesting computational fabrication problems.

Open positions

PhD positions

We are looking to hire PhD candidates in the area of Monte Carlo and Quasi-Monte Carlo (MCQMC) sampling and rendering algorithms with applications varying from offline rendering to efficient VR renderings. Basic practical knowledge of (convolutional) neural networks is strongly recommended. Please contact me directly if you are interested.

Internship positions

We also have few internship positions available (3-6 months) in the areas of computational fabrication and MCQMC sampling/rendering algorithms. Master level students will be given preference. Please contact me directly if you are interested.
