I am a research scientist at Allen AI, Seattle. I completed my PhD at the Databases group in MPI, August 2016. My work revolves around Information Extraction, NLP and Machine Learning with a focus on construction of a Commonsense Knowledge Base which is aware of the facts like sizeOf(flower, small) and hasEmotion(hug, relief). During my free time, I make software for the visually impaired people so they can benefit from the large amount of information available on the Web. I founded PQRS Research that supports undergrad CS students from developing nations (in terms of research) by providing remote internships. In PQRS, we work on projects around accessibility as well as other topics. My vision is a community driven research mentorship network that is inspired by open source software development and does meaningful research and trains the undergrad CS students in developing nations. Under the ambit of PQRS, I organized a 3-day tutorial workshop on AI and the Web which was very well received.
